Therapist history

I first Started professional training over 25 years ago, initially in various massage based therapies before completing a full time diploma in holistic therapy which included nutrition and counselling as well as other holistic therapies. At this time i set up the Healing Hands business and started to see clients.

I then took further diplomas in remedial massage, sport massage and advanced aromatherapy before starting to work full time at Hoar Cross health spa as a holistic and sports therapist, working closely in a team of experienced therapists and healers. Working busy 8 hour shifts perfecting the skills that i had learned and developing my intuitive style. At this time i also completed extensive training in the Bowen technique as well as hydrotherm massage and reiki.

I then had a change of direction deciding to leave the health spa and start to work at physiotherapy clinics focusing more on remedial therapy treating specific conditions over a course of sessions. I started to work at CTC physiotherapy clinic, initially working under the direction and guidance of their most experienced physiotherapist and director Rick Carter helping to treat his own private physiotherapy patients, gaining a lot of valuable experience working on a whole range of musculoskeletal problems for 18 months before he went off to London to work with Chelsea F.C.

Then i focused on building my own busy clinics both within CTC at Crewe & Nantwich and also at Friarswood physiotherapy clinic in Newcastle treating musculoskeletal conditions, sports injuries as well as stress and emotional conditions and also completed the reiki master training.

Over this period of time i had also took further training in sports therapy and injuries, advanced therapy course, electrotherapy and ultrasound and started to work with Stoke City first team mainly on match days, continuing to work with them for 5 seasons.

At this time i also worked with Longton Rugby club for more than 2 seasons as well as local football clubs and had the experience of working in care homes on several patients for a few years.

I then completed extensive training in traditional Chinese acupuncture and massage/ manipulation (tuina) before working for 12 months at an established traditional Chinese medicine clinic, initially alongside an experienced Chinese doctor but then started to see all of her patients as well as all of my own at the other clinics, as she left on maternity leave for 6 months. This was a valuable experience as i was having to treat lots of different internal conditions as well as dermatological and musculoskeletal conditions.

In the following years I then continued to work from the physiotherapy clinics for 5 days per week as well as with local football and cricket clubs. Using all of the various skills and approaches that i had learned, often combining them together to give a stronger result, treating a wide range of conditions and continuing to take more training courses to continually upgrade my skills.

I then took extensive training in manipulative therapy, under the tutelage  of various osteopaths and a renowned expert physiotherapist teacher which took my diagnostic and treatment skills to a higher level.

At the same time as this, in 2013, i opened my own clinic at the beautifully located Brampton House, 10 Queen Street in central Newcastle under Lyme where i continue to offer my therapies and evolve my work.

I eventually passed the Master's Diploma in Manipulative therapy, which is the highest level of training in massage & manipulative therapy and have become one of the most highly qualified and experienced hands-on therapists in Staffordshire who prides himself on getting fast and effective results. I treat all of my clinic's clients myself in person and unlike most other clinics i refuse to take on less experienced therapists to do the work.
